Welcome to eighth grade biology class! Your teacher, Miss Margarida, is a mercurial matriarch, often
digressing from biology to taunt and harangue. She might send you to the principal's office, and sometimes
students never come back... She asks how to divide 12 bananas among 35 people and answers that the strongest
gets 9, the second strongest gets three, and the rest go hungry.
Miss Margarida's Way is a hilarious and choatic allegory about
dictatorship that has played in over 50 countries. Originally banned in Athayde's native Brazil,
Miss Margarida's Way will have you cringing, laughing, thinking,
and maybe hiding under your desk.
