The Odyssey

CWT's critically-acclaimed performance
The Odyssey plays at the
HIGH FEST International Theatre Festival in Yerevan, Armenia.
An adaptation of Homer's epic poem for two people traveling together in a small boat, sailing across a half-real,
half imaginary landscape. This tale of exile and return is told in fragments, floating on top of song, text, image, and
physicality - a kaleidescope of one-eyed giants, voodoo priestesses, and seafarers, surrounding the story
of Odysseus and Penelope.
"What makes The Odyssey so enticing? First of all, it doesn't
resemble anything you've likely ever seen in a theater....The Odyssey is part theater and part circus.
Monologues and sea shanties rub shoulders with fire-eating and minor acrobatics. It's like watching two
very imaginative, resourceful kids playing make-believe, and the end product is mesmerizing...a mood piece
of astonishing beauty."
